Use the M7, Limerick Motorway. When 20kms from Limerick, take Exit 27 off motorway (signposted Birdhill, Killaloe, Ballina). Take second exits off the 2 roundabouts onto R494 (signposted Killaloe/Ballina). Travel for 4kms approximately into Ballina. Pass Goosers Pub and the Church, at roundabout, take first exit to left and take next right turn at Molly’s bar, after traffic lights and before bridge crossing the Shannon River. Hotel is located 600m on left had side of Road.
Use the N20 Limerick road. After leaving Charleville continue onto M20 motorway, signposted Limerick. At Junction 1 (Rossbrien interchange) continue forward and join onto M7 motorway, signposted Dublin. Take exit 27 off motorway (signposted Birdhill, Killaloe, Ballina). Take second exits off the roundabout onto R494 (signposted Killaloe/Ballina). Travel for 4kms approximately into Ballina. Use the N18 Limerick road. Continue on N18 to Limerick, by passing Ennis. Follow signs for Limerick East-Toll. Pass through the toll plaza and into tunne. At Junction 1 (Rossbrien interchange) continue forward and join onto M7 motorway, signposted Dublin. Take Exit 27 off motorway (signposted Birdhill, Killaloe, Ballina). Take second exits of the roundabout onto R494 (signposted Killaloe/Ballina). Travel for 4kms approximately into Ballina. Pass Goosers Pub before the Church, at roundabout take first exit to left and take next turn right at Molly's bar, which is after the traffic lights, but immediately before the start of the bridge crossing the Shannon River. Sea ferry services operate year round from the UK and France. Ferries travel to Cork, Rosslare, Dun Laoghaire and Dublin ferry ports.
Limerick city’s Colbert Station and Galway Station are the hubs of the regional rail networks with frequent daily services to all destinations throughout Ireland. The approximate journey time by train between Limerick & Dublin and Limerick & Cork is just over 2 hours.
Ennis, Tralee, Nenagh, Thurles, Birdhill, Roscrea, Cloughjordan and Templemore are the regional rail stations included in the national grid. Iarnrod Eireann, the operators of the rail system offer a range of daily, weekly, monthly and early train saver fares.
Bus Eireann operates a comprehensive provincial bus service to the many towns and villages throughout the region. These services operate out of the main urban centres at Limerick, Galway, Tralee and Ennis. The provincial routes offer as a feeder service. Main towns are connected by the expressway service, which operates on a frequent basis, and forms part of the national bus routes to Ireland's other main towns and cities. Frequent user tickets by the day, week and month are available from the main stations. During the summer months, extra services operate to the main seaside resorts and places of interest like Doolin in Co. Clare, which also has ferry crossings to the Aran Islands.
